The end of my voicemail says to "Make it a GREAT day!". One of my agents commented on that one the other day. "I like how you don't say to have a great day, you say to make it a great day, because YOU have to MAKE it, it just doesn't 'happen'.
Yep, that's correct.
I read so much negativity on here. Agents are concerned about sticking it out in the business or moving on to something else.
Other professions are questioning if anyone else is making any money.
Agents are complaining about their competition stating facts.
Some complain about the Foreclosures and Short Sales.
Agents complain about the 'dumb' agent or 'annoying' customer
Those posts get 'featured'.
Why can't we feature something that reminds us to:
Make it a GREAT Day!!!!!
Thats my hope for EVERYONE.
Wake up tomorrow and Make it a GREAT day!
We are here experiencing this life for a reason. It is to ENJOY life!
Sure we all have to make a living but most important before that is BEING HAPPY!
So whatever it is that makes you happy - DO IT!
So let's look to the positive side of life and focus on what we DO want and stop focusing on what we don't want!

State is mind is half the battle. Stay positive.
Susan,
We need to try to see things with positivism even in the considered bad times for Real Estate, we need to get the best from the worst :)
Ray Saenz
Trunda, I think it IS the battle. Thanks for stopping by.
Ray, what is 'bad'? Different in everyone's eyes. It is great for our buyers that couldn't afford a house until this year.
I love it. You so hit the nail right on the head. It is really up to us to CHOOSE how it is going to be. We can choose to complaign and let those around us make us unhappy or we choose to be happy! It is all up to us. Thanks for sharing!
Susan, great advice! I love what you said, because it is true, each day is what we make it! Thanks for the reminder!
Way to go Susan, I commend you for staying positive. I have spoken to groups around the globe and seen people from all walks of life facing tought times. I have always encouraged them to take charge and make something good happen. I truly love the statement Make it a great day, after all so many people sit around waiting for it to come to them and it never does. So getting out as you state and making it happen is a wonderful feeling. Even if it doesn't turn out so great sometimes at least you can feel good about yourself that you gave it your all and chances are tomorrow will be the day. Thanks for a good post...
CUMBAYA...
Susan,
I will have to explain on detail what I wrote above, sometimes for sellers is not good, but on the other side, it's good for buyers, that's the reason that I wrote it, as realtors we need to get the best from the worst. I do not know your market, but when there are many foreclosures / short sales, We still can can help and get rewarded, it means that is not good for the owners (sellers) and of course the good thing for the sellers will be get out of the problem and avoid foreclosure with a short sale,
what about the buyers? it is a very good opportunity.
as you wrote above, "Different in everyone's eyes", I really agree. :), Now, do I make sense or still not?
Great blog !

Thank you for this. It is the mentality mindset that some people like to complain and some do not. Not that some people have lots to complain about and some have nothing. I will keep your article in mind as I still complain, sometime.
everyone has bad days.. I try to emphathise with that.. I certainly have some too.. but I love the group that Sally Cheesman has.. Positive attitudes for the weary souls.. here on Activerain.. I always find something good there. :)
I went to sleep and now look at all the comments. Great to see you all stop by!
Cristal, well said. It IS all up to us :)
Tony and Darcy, Yes, that is correct. We can all BE happy!
Hollis, I see A LOT of people who are having very 'tough' times right nnow. Usually I see the pivot where they 'decide to be happy'. Because regardless of where you are right NOW, you ALWAYS have the option of BEING Happy. Thanks for your comment!
Reaction Realty, :)
Ray, Yes, I knew what you meant by that first comment, just like your more positive spin below ;)
Huiting, Exactly. Everyone has the choice.
Gail, Of course we all have bad days, we just can't keep dwelling on all that is not great, life will get better much faster if we focus on the GOOD. I love that group also, it just kind of made me say 'hmm' looking at all the featured posts yesterday on the front of AR....
You go girl. Our team is focusing on a better more positive attitude and we are all seeing the results in a short period of time.
Great post, THANKS, sometimes we all could use a little reminder. Don't worry be happy.
Team Homeycutt, It truly does make a difference, doesn't it? And always better the more people you can get involved.
Mom, thanks for stopping by - We all know that it is really the BEST thing we can CONTROL. ;)
I'm reminded of a hamburger joint in West Houston called Dead Solid Perfect (DSP to us locals). They had been on their corner out in the boondocks for many decades. It was an event to go eat a burger there. Then Houston started growing westward and eventually Wendy's, Burger King, and McDonald's occupied the other three corners. Didn't phase DSP. All four burger joints had full parking lots during lunch and supper rush hours, but only DSP had a full parking lot until 2:00 a.m. They made their business by making each day.
Attitude is everything Mary. You are right in saying make it a great day because effort = results. Make it a great day Mary.
