More and more the weakness of our dollar attracts overseas buyers, especially to our resort markets. It's a lee port in our current rough market sea.

It truly is a sad state of affairs, for the country, to see the value of the US dollar diminishing this way.

Are you seeing more Canadian buyers recently?  I have spent the last week working with Canadian buyers in the Naples area.

the locals are broke, out of area is the only way to go

I am still finding some locals that did not buy during the feeding frenzy, have excellent credit, the down payment and closing costs.  So they are buying now. :)

Susan, I agree that the attraction of the foreign investment to Florida does have to do with the weakness of the dollar and Euros buying so much more here. It goes in cycles though. When the dollar is stronger the American tourists in Europe are getting great deals.

Gary - you are right things to go in cycles.  However, the Euro has been higher than the dollar for some time now and the pendulum hopefully will swing back. :)

I hate to do this but you do not understand currency and did the math all backwards.  250k U.S. = equal 170k Euros not dollars.

250k Euros = 365k US Dollars @.68 This is why foreign investors are in the US.  The point 68 (.68) means their money is worth 1.68 times ours, thus why it is multiplied by .68 as anything times 1 is itself.

250k US = about 254K CAD.  Canadian.  Therefore 1 CAD = approx .98 USD.

I hope this helps!
